Roleplaying Rules

These are the rules that are specifically for roleplaying. Breaking them will not result in a warning (unless stated).

1. The most important rule is that you are to post using third-person point of view. This is solely to prevent any confusion as to what character is being used. This also means no *action*, <action>, -action-, or anything of that sort is allowed.

2. Please try to be literate. This means use proper punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and grammar. It gets really hard to read once you pass your fifth grammatical error. Not everyone speaks English fluently, I know, but please try.

3. Your post must be at least two sentences long at a minimum. If it's one sentence, it better be a really long and descriptive sentence. If you can, make it longer than two, though.

4. If you are roleplaying and you need to say something OOC (out of character), put something to notify the reader that it is OOC. You could use parenthesis( -->( )<-- these), hyphens ( - - ), slashes ( / \ ), or anything that you chose. Just make sure that it is fairly obvious.

5. Absolutely DO NOT use texting lingo (omg, lol, brb, and so forth) unless speaking OOC.

6. No godmodding, powerplaying, metagaming, or whatever you want to call it. I think I found a good explanation of it: "when someone’s character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RPers try." This includes Mary Sue/Gary Stu characters, which are characters that are perfect in every way possible. Make your characters have at least a few weaknesses! (Note: Depending on the severity, you can get a warning from breaking this rule.)

7. Do not kill off someone else's character unless a) they want you to, or b) you ask and they give you permission. If someone kills off your character without your permission, you are allowed to bring your character back to life, or keep them dead if that's what you want. (Note: You will get a warning from breaking this rule.)

8. Do not RP a canon character unless you are the official RPer of that character. **If you want to apply for a canon character, check the "Canon" section.** Do not RP someone else's OC, either.

9. If you don't RP with a canon character for a long time (a month or two), it will be taken away. If you post in the "Absences" section, then you are okay.

10. As said in the "General Rules" topic, you can have as many OCs as you want. Just don't make so many that you can't RP with them all.

11. Do not base an OC off of a canon character! They can have similarities, but don't make them an exact copy. A prime example of this in the Shugo Chara fandom is making a Guardian Chara part animal, like Yoru. This is allowed, but don't make them nearly identical to Yoru.

12. Your OC can have a maximum of two Guardian Charas unless you are given special permission. If you want three or four (that is the maximum), then you have to ask an admin or moderator. Even then, you better have a darn good reason for your OC to have more than two. It can't just be "because," because that is borderling Mary Suish/Gary Stuish (which ties in with rule 6).

13. Your character DOES NOT have ANY sort of relation to ANY canon character. They are not Ikuto's girlfriend or Kukai's younger brother or anything like that. They can be friends with the canons, but that's it. I will also allow having crushes on canons, but no relationships.

14. You are required to give your OCs a different color to speak in (ex. have your character talk in "Royal blue"). Make it a color that is easy to read, though. I will make a guide to changing text colors.

As stated at the top, you will not be given a warning for breaking these rules (except for rules 6 and 7). This does not mean they will be ignored, though. You will be told if you break one of these rules and you are expected to follow them.
